Le quatre-cylindres en ligne de 999,8\u202fcm\u00b3 profite d\u2019un travail de fond sur les pi\u00e8ces internes, avec pour objectif de <strong data-start=\"637\" data-end=\"713\">r\u00e9pondre aux normes d\u2019\u00e9mission actuelles sans sacrifier les performances<\/strong>. Le calage variable Suzuki SR\u2011VVT est maintenu, tout comme le syst\u00e8me Broad Power System, qui \u00e9largit la courbe de puissance utile \u00e0 tous les r\u00e9gimes. La puissance maximale atteint 195 chevaux (143,5\u202fkW) \u00e0 13&rsquo;200\u202ftr\/min, pour un couple de 110\u202fNm \u00e0 11&rsquo;000\u202ftr\/min. Le diagramme d\u2019ouverture des soupapes a \u00e9t\u00e9 modifi\u00e9 pour limiter le croisement, et la cha\u00eene de distribution est \u00e9largie afin de r\u00e9sister aux contraintes de la course d\u2019endurance.
